Cal Wilson, a New Zealand comedian, died of a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She was in the hospital for approximately four weeks before her death. Wilson had kept her health issues private, with only family and a handful of close friends aware of it before her death. She was filming The Great Australian Bake Off in Sydney when she had to be taken to the hospital. Wilson was a beloved fixture on Australian television and had a three-decade career that spanned 14 Melbourne international comedy festival shows, two children’s books, and regular appearances on series including Thank God You’re Here, Whose Line Is it Anyway? and Spicks and Specks.
