The estimated number of Katipuneros who attended the meeting for the Cry of Pugad Lawin varies depending on the source. According to an article from The Sunday Tribune Magazine on August 21, 1932, the meeting was held in Balintawak on August 26, 1896, and among those who attended were Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto, Aguedo del Rosario, Tomas Remigio, Briccio Pantas, Teodoro Plata, Pio Valenzuela, Enrique Pacheco, and Francisco Carreon. They were all leaders of the Katipunan and composed the board of directors of the organization. Delegates from Bulacan, Cabanatuan, Cavite, and Morong were also present.

On the other hand, according to Dr. Pio Valenzuelas account, the first place where some 500 members of the Katipunan met on August 22, 1896, there were no debates or adopted resolutions. Meanwhile, historian Teodoro Kalaw wrote in his 1925 book entitled The Filipino Revolution that the Cry took place during the final week of August 1896 at Kangkong, Balintawak. Santiago Alvarez, a Katipunero and son of Mariano Alvarez who was the leader of the Magdiwang faction in Cavite, stated in 1927 that the cry happened at Bahay Toro, now in Quezon City on August 24, 1896.

Therefore, it is difficult to determine the exact number of Katipuneros who attended the meeting for the Cry of Pugad Lawin, as the accounts vary and are not consistent.
