The third personality dimension proposed by Hans Eysenck and his wife Sybil Eysenck is psychoticism versus socialization (often described as psychoticism versus superego control in some sources). This dimension was added to Eysenck’s PEN model to capture tendencies toward nonconformity, impulsivity, and a disregard for social norms, contrasted with a more normative, socially controlled orientation.
