The Bolsheviks implemented several major changes immediately after the October Revolution. The main change was their opposition to private property, which meant that most companies and banks were nationalized. Other changes included:

• Prime real estate was designated as social property, and peasants were free to occupy it.
• Large houses in cities were divided by the Bolsheviks in accordance with family requirements.
