Professional wrestler Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, died on August 24, 2023, at the age of 36. WWE officials confirmed his death, but the cause of death was not immediately made available. Wyatt was a former WWE champion and had been with the company since 2009, save for just over a year in 2021 and 2022 when he was surprisingly released. He had been inactive over the past several months in WWE while dealing with an undisclosed health issue. Wyatt wrestled as multiple characters during his career, including as a member of The Wyatt Family and as a nightmarish masked alter ego called The Fiend. His last televised match took place at the 2023 Royal Rumble in January, when he defeated LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match. Wyatts death was unexpected, and his family has asked for privacy at this time.
