You can edit WhatsApp messages up to 15 minutes after sending them. To do so:

• On Android or iPhone: Long-press the message you want to edit. On Android, tap the three-dot menu and select "Edit." On iPhone, tap "Edit" directly from the popup menu.
• On WhatsApp Desktop (Windows or Mac): Right-click the message and select "Edit."
• Make your changes and confirm by tapping the checkmark or send button.

Edited messages will update for everyone in the chat and display the label "edited" next to the timestamp, so recipients know the message was changed. However, you cannot edit photos, videos, or other media, and you cannot edit messages after the 15-minute window has passed. Also, editing does not send a new notification to recipients

. Additional notes:

• You can only edit messages from the device you sent them from.
• If the recipient does not have the latest WhatsApp version, they will see a note indicating the message was edited on the latest version.
• You cannot edit multiple messages at once or edit messages in WhatsApp Community announcement groups

This feature helps correct typos or add context without cluttering the chat with follow-up messages
