Abraham Lincoln died on April 15, 1865, at 7:22 a.m. He was shot the previous evening, on April 14, 1865, while attending a play at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. After being shot in the head, he was carried across the street to the Petersen House, where he remained in a coma and passed away about nine hours later.
