This delay is partly to avoid conflicting releases with other major Netflix shows like Stranger Things. Season 7 will continue the series with 10 episodes and includes new locations, such as Mexico, for part of the storyline. Netflix has also confirmed the show has been renewed for Season 8, so Virgin River will continue beyond Season 7.
