Dickinson & Morris was first established in 1851. This is the year Mary Dickinson, often credited as the originator of the Melton Mowbray pork pie, and her grandson John Dickinson were involved in expanding the business, and the name Dickinson & Morris came into use after Joseph Morris joined in 1886, but the establishment date of the bakery lineage traces to 1851 when John leased the Nottingham Street shop in Melton Mowbray.
