The First Continental Congress was held from September 5 to October 26, 1774. It was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen American colonies (Georgia did not attend) and took place at Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia. The Congress was convened in response to the British Parliament's Intolerable Acts and the blockade of Boston Harbor, aiming to address colonial grievances and coordinate a colonial response through measures like the Suffolk Resolves and the Continental Association, which called for a boycott of British goods.
