The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell, who received the first U.S. patent for the device on March 7, 1876. Bell's invention allowed real- time voice communication over long distances by converting sound into electrical signals. The first historic telephone call was made by Bell on March 10, 1876, when he called his assistant, saying, "Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you".
Regarding mobile phones, the first mobile phone was invented much later, in the 1970s, by Martin Cooper of Motorola. He made the first mobile phone call on April 3, 1973, using the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X.
