Philadelphia Eagles (NFL team)
The Philadelphia Eagles were founded in 1933, when a syndicate led by Bert
Bell and Lud Wray purchased the rights to the defunct Frankford Yellow Jackets
franchise for $2,500. Their first game was a 3-3 tie against the Chicago Bears
on November 12, 1933, at Philadelphia's Baker Bowl. The team struggled early
on, winning one or two games in most of its first 10 seasons.
