Georgia is issuing one-time stimulus-like tax rebate checks in 2025 as part of a surplus tax refund program. Eligible taxpayers who filed their 2023 and 2024 state tax returns on time can expect these refunds starting in June 2025. The rebate amounts are:

• $250 for single filers and those married filing separately,
• $375 for heads of household,
• $500 for married couples filing jointly.

The refunds are funded by Georgia's strong state economy and budget surplus, and this marks the third consecutive year the state has issued such payments. The payments will be sent automatically using the payment method selected on your state tax return, with direct deposits or mailed checks issued in batches from June onward. Typically, you can expect to receive the refund within 6-8 weeks after filing by the May 1 deadline.
