The Grand Tetons are located in the northwestern region of the U.S. state of Wyoming. They are part of the Grand Teton National Park, which covers approximately 310,000 acres and includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long Teton Range and most of the northern areas of the valley known as Jackson Hole. The park is located about 10 miles south of Yellowstone National Park, to which it is connected by the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway. The highest peak in the range is the Grand Teton, standing at 13,770 feet (4,198 meters) above sea level. The park lies north of the town of Jackson, Wyoming, and just south of Yellowstone National Park, with the area known for its stunning mountain vistas, alpine lakes, and diverse wildlife.
