David Mills went to Rutgers University for his undergraduate education, graduating in 1969. He also graduated from Rutgers Law School in 1973 magna cum laude. After completing his university education, he pursued Rabbinical Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Jerusalem.
