King Tutankhamun, commonly known as King Tut, died and was buried in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, Egypt. His tomb, designated KV62, is where his body was sealed after his death, around 1327 BCE. The tomb is smaller and less elaborate than other royal tombs, likely because it was originally intended for a non-royal individual and adapted for him after his premature death. This location protected his body and burial treasures for over 3,000 years until their discovery by Howard Carter in 1922.
