Rauw Alejandro grew up in Puerto Rico, primarily in the towns of Canóvanas and Carolina. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but spent much of his childhood in Canóvanas, which is a mountainous and tranquil area, before moving to the nearby city of Carolina with his mother and siblings. He also attended school in Puerto Rico where he became childhood friends with rapper Anuel AA. Later in life, he moved to Florida to pursue a soccer career before focusing on music.
