Robert Redford grew up in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. He was born in Santa Monica, California, and during his childhood, his family lived in Van Nuys while his father worked in nearby El Segundo. Redford attended Van Nuys High School and spent much of his childhood in that area before moving on to other places later in life.
