T.J. McConnell went to college at two universities. He started his collegiate basketball career at Duquesne University, where he played from 2010 to 2012. After that, he transferred to the University of Arizona, where he played from 2013 to 2015, sitting out the 2012-2013 season due to NCAA transfer rules. At Arizona, he competed at a higher level and helped lead the team to Elite Eight appearances. His college career was marked by strong defensive play and leadership, earning him several honors along the way.
