Air Force One refers to any U.S. Air Force aircraft carrying the president of the United States, but commonly it means the two highly customized Boeing 747-200B jumbo jets with tail numbers 28000 and 29000, designated VC-25A. These aircraft are based at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, near Washington, D.C., and are assigned to the 89th Airlift Wing of the Air Force's Air Mobility Command. Currently, Air Force One can be anywhere in the world depending on the president's travel schedule, as it has global range with mid- air refueling capability. For example, very recently, it was reported to be at London Stansted Airport for a presidential visit in the UK as of September 16, 2025.
