Satoru Gojo is originally from Kyoto, Japan. He belongs to the prestigious Gojo clan, one of the three great jujutsu families whose main house is located in Kyoto. Although Gojo was born in Kyoto, he moved to Tokyo during his childhood as part of an elite jujutsu sorcerer training program. He spent much of his childhood and early training in Tokyo, where he attended the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School and later became a teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High School
