Hickman County is located in the U.S. state of Tennessee, in Middle Tennessee, near Nashville. The county seat is Centerville. It covers an area of about 613 square miles, mostly land, with notable waterways including the Duck River and Piney River. Hickman County is part of the Nashville–Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin metropolitan area and is situated west of the state center, bordered by Dickson, Williamson, Maury, Lewis, Perry, and Humphreys counties. The county features natural attractions like springs, waterfalls, and the Natchez Trace Parkway. It is approximately an hour's drive west of Nashville. Recently, an explosion occurred at Accurate Energetic Systems, a manufacturing plant near the border with Humphreys County within Hickman County.
