Lebanon is a country located in the Levant region of West Asia, on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east, Israel to the south, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. Lebanon's geographical coordinates are approximately 33.83° N latitude and 35.83° E longitude. The country features two main mountain ranges — the Lebanon Mountains along the coast and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains along the border with Syria — with the fertile Bekaa Valley between them. Beirut is the capital and largest city of Lebanon. The nation is known for its diverse cultural and religious communities and has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
