The original signed, handwritten United States Constitution is housed at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. It is on permanent display there along with the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. The National Archives building is located on Constitution Avenue NW, between 7th and 9th Streets, just north of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This is where the foundational document of U.S. government and law can be viewed by the public.
