The Railway Staff College, now known as the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), is located in Vadodara, Gujarat. It is housed in the historic Pratap Vilas Palace campus, which spans 55 acres in the Lalbaug area of Vadodara. The academy was originally established in 1930 in Premnagar, Dehradun, but was relocated to Vadodara in 1952. The Pratap Vilas Palace, built in 1914 and designed in the renaissance style by C.F. Stevens, provides a scenic and spacious environment for training Indian Railway officers at all levels, from probationers to General Managers
