Uganda is located in East Africa. It is a landlocked country bordered by South Sudan to the north, Kenya to the east, Tanzania and Rwanda to the south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. A portion of Lake Victoria lies along its southern border, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. The country sits on the East African plateau, generally around 1,100 meters (about 3,600 feet) above sea level, and lies roughly around 1 degree north latitude and 32 degrees east longitude.
