Earlier series were filmed at a school in Rochdale (Top Hill School in Kirkholt Estate) and later in Greenock, Scotland for series 8 to 10. The latest filming for the new series reportedly took place at the former St Ambrose Barlow School site in Swinton, Greater Manchester.
