Charlie Kirk was shot on the rooftop of the Losee Center at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah. The shooting occurred while he was speaking at an outdoor event in the UVU Fountain Courtyard (also referred to as the quad). The single shot that hit Kirk in the neck came from the roof of the Losee Center, approximately 130 to 180 meters away from where Kirk was standing. After the shot, the suspect escaped by moving across the roof, dropping from the rooftop, and fleeing into a nearby wooded area.
