Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, commonly referred to as “Epstein Island,” was Little Saint James in the Caribbean.
Location
Little Saint James is a small private island in the United States Virgin Islands, located southeast of the island of Saint Thomas.
The island lies roughly a couple of miles off the coast of St. Thomas and is only accessible by boat or helicopter.
Geographic details
Little Saint James is about 70–72 acres (around 28 hectares) in size and sits within the Caribbean Sea as part of the Virgin Islands archipelago.
Its approximate coordinates are 18.30000° N latitude and 64.82500° W longitude.
Epstein’s ownership
Epstein bought Little Saint James in 1998 and owned it until his death in 2019, during which time it gained the informal nickname “Epstein Island.”
He also later purchased the nearby island of Great Saint James, but Little Saint James is the property most often meant when people refer to his “private island.”
