Melania Trump was born on April 26, 1970, in Novo Mesto, which was then part of Yugoslavia and is now in Slovenia. She grew up in Sevnica, a small town in Slovenia. At the time of her birth, Slovenia was a region within the former Yugoslavia. Melania became a naturalized United States citizen in 2006 and later served as the First Lady of the United States. She is the second First Lady born outside the United States, after Louisa Catherine Adams.
