The Magna Carta was signed at Runnymede Meadows, which is located between Windsor and Staines in England. King John sealed the Magna Carta there on June 15, 1215. This site was chosen because it was a neutral meeting place between the King’s camp at Windsor Castle and the Barons’ camp at Staines, and the meadow had a history of being used for outdoor council meetings.
