We were soldiers filming locations primarily include Fort Hunter Liggett in California for the Ia Drang Valley scenes, Fort Benning in Georgia for boot camp training sequences, and additional domestic shooting around Pasadena, California; some exterior work and apartment scenes were done in Morro Bay, California, with other sequences filmed on location near Columbus, Georgia.
