WhatsApp has introduced animated emojis that move when sent as a single emoji in a chat. The animation plays once when the emoji is sent or opened, and tapping on the emoji again will replay the animation. Not all emojis are animated; currently, seven emojis are confirmed to move, including:

• 😂 (Face with tears of joy)
• 😍 (Smiling face with heart eyes)
• 😘 (Face blowing a kiss)
• 🥰 (Smiling face with hearts)
• 🤣 (Rolling on the floor laughing)
• 😉 (Winking face)
• ❤️ (Red heart)

Other animated emojis include some colorful hearts and a few others like 💕, 😎, 💯, and ✨ that have animations in WhatsApp. These animated emojis appear only when sent alone without any other text or emojis in the message. Users can also disable animated image playback in WhatsApp settings under Chats if they prefer static emojis. This feature is still rolling out to all users and devices, so it might not be visible for everyone yet.
