Today, October 14, 2025, 20 living Israeli hostages who were held by Hamas in Gaza were released under a US-brokered ceasefire deal. The hostages were civilians and soldiers who had been held for over two years. The first group of seven hostages released includes Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, Guy Gilboa-Dallal, and twin brothers Gali and Ziv Berman. The second group of 13 hostages includes Elkana Bohbot, Avinatan Or, Yosef-Haim Ohana, Evyatar David, Rom Braslavski, Segev Kalfon, Nimrod Cohen, Maxim Herkin, Eitan Horn, Matan Zangauker, Bar Kupershtein, and brothers David and Ariel Cunio. The hostages were handed over to the Red Cross and then transferred to Israeli forces inside Gaza. They were taken to a military base for reunions with their families and medical treatment. This release is part of a larger ceasefire and peace effort led by President Trump and other regional leaders.
