Crocodiles are generally more dangerous than alligators. They are larger, more aggressive, and have a stronger bite force. Crocodiles are also more territorial and more likely to view humans as prey, resulting in far more fatal attacks each year compared to alligators. Alligators tend to be more reclusive and tend to avoid humans unless provoked or defending their nests. Statistically, crocodiles are responsible for hundreds of human fatalities annually, whereas alligator attacks are significantly less frequent and usually less lethal.
