The liver is located on the right side of your upper body, just under your ribs. It sits beneath the diaphragm and above the stomach, right kidney, and intestines in your abdomen. The liver is a large, reddish-brown organ with two lobes; the right lobe is larger than the left. It occupies most of the space in the right upper part of your rib cage and plays vital roles including filtering blood, producing bile, and storing nutrients. So, if you put your right hand just under your ribs, it would cover most of your liver.
