The state with the most migrant farmworkers is California. California's Central Valley is the largest agricultural area in the U.S., supplying about 40% of the nation's fruits, nuts, and other foods, and roughly half to 80% of its farmworkers are migrant or undocumented immigrants. Estimates suggest California has between approximately 471,000 and 626,000 farmworkers, many of whom migrate for seasonal work, making it the state with the highest migrant farmworker population by a large margin.
