Abbott Elementary was created by Quinta Brunson. She is the series creator, writer, and star, and serves as an executive producer on the show. The show debuted in 2021 on ABC and is set in a Philadelphia public elementary school, following the experiences of teachers and staff as they strive to improve their students’ lives despite limited resources.
