DoorDash was created by four Stanford University students: Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang, and Evan Moore. They started the company in 2013, initially launching as PaloAltoDelivery.com before incorporating as DoorDash later that year. Tony Xu serves as the CEO, Stanley Tang is the Chief Product Officer, and Andy Fang is the Chief Technical Officer. The founders came together as classmates and friends at Stanford, driven by a shared mission to solve delivery challenges faced by local small businesses in the Bay Area, which led to the founding of DoorDash as a food delivery service platform.
