The modern air conditioner was invented by Willis Haviland Carrier in 1902. Carrier, an American engineer, developed the first electrical air conditioning system to control humidity, originally designed to solve a problem at a printing plant in Brooklyn, New York. This invention laid the foundation for today’s air conditioning technology and is considered the birth of modern air conditioning.
