Gorilla Glue was invented by Mark Singer, a woodworker from the United States. In the 1990s, while visiting a furniture factory in Indonesia, he discovered a moisture-cured polyurethane adhesive being used to construct teak furniture. Impressed by its bonding capabilities, he brought sample bottles back to America, modified the formula slightly, and acquired the North American rights for the glue. He then founded the Gorilla Glue brand in 1994, initially marketing it towards woodworkers before it grew into a widely recognized consumer product.
