Chris Tindal is a retired Navy Captain with over 40 years of service who has played a significant role in energy management and the promotion of alternative fuels in the U.S. Navy. He started his federal career in 1988 at Naval Facilities Engineering Command, working in Facilities Management, Operations, and Energy Management. He rose to become the Director for Operational Energy under the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, where he set energy policy and promoted alternative fuels and renewable energy for the Navy. Chris was a leader in the Great Green Fleet initiative, where the Navy used millions of gallons of alternative fuel blends. After his Navy career, he became the Assistant Director for the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI), promoting sustainable aviation fuels. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology and serves as a consultant and board member in the biofuels sector. Chris is known for his expertise in biofuels and energy efficiency and has been recognized as one of the Top 100 People in the Bioeconomy from 2013-2017.
