Chakal is the primary antagonist in the 2014 animated film The Book of Life. He is a ruthless bandit king who terrorizes the town of San Angel and opposes the protagonist Manolo in a bid to control the town and its fate. He serves as the rival to the hero Joaquin and embodies the film’s villainous force that Manolo and his allies must overcome.
