There has been no announcement yet of a new apostle being called to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in 2025. The recent major leadership announcement was that Dallin H. Oaks was named the 18th President and Prophet of the Church on October 14, 2025, succeeding President Russell M. Nelson who passed away in September 2025. President Oaks also chose Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson as his counselors in the First Presidency. Jeffrey R. Holland is serving as President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. President Oaks is expected to call a new apostle to replace President Nelson sometime between now and April 2026, but no specific name has been announced yet.
