Toby Keith's horse in the 2025 Kentucky Derby is named Render Judgment. Render Judgment is a bay colt partially owned by Toby Keith's Dream Walkin' Farms, a Thoroughbred breeding and racing operation founded by the late country music star. The horse was trained by Kenny McPeek, who also trained the 2024 Derby winner Mystik Dan, and ridden by jockey Julien Leparoux in the race. Render Judgment entered the Derby as a longshot with odds around 19-1 to 30-1 and started from post position 15. This marked the fulfillment of Toby Keith's long-held dream to have a horse compete in the Kentucky Derby, a dream he expressed publicly before his passing in 2024. Render Judgment was a late addition to the Derby field after another horse, Tappan Street, was withdrawn due to injury. Although Render Judgment did not place near the top—finishing 17th—the participation was a significant tribute to Keith's passion for horse racing
