Veterans Day is a U.S. federal holiday dedicated to honoring all military veterans—people who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on November 11 each year and originally began as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I, later renamed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor veterans of all wars.
