Disney Plus is owned by The Walt Disney Company. It is operated through Disney Streaming, which is a division within Disney Entertainment, a major business segment of The Walt Disney Company. Disney acquired the streaming technology and framework from BAMTech and launched Disney+ as their direct-to-consumer streaming service in November 2019. The service distributes content primarily produced by Walt Disney Studios and related Disney brands such as Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Disney also owns a majority stake in Hulu, which complements its streaming portfolio alongside Disney+.
