Starz is currently an independent publicly traded company. It was originally acquired by Lionsgate in 2016, but on May 7, 2025, Lionsgate completed the full separation of Starz from its studio division, making Starz a standalone company once again. Starz now trades on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol STRZ. The company focuses on premium cable and streaming services with around 20 million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
