Vauxhall cars are owned by Stellantis, a multinational automotive group formed in 2021 through the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Vauxhall was originally a British company but was acquired by General Motors in 1925 and remained under its ownership until 2017. At that point, the PSA Group acquired Vauxhall (along with its European twin brand Opel) from General Motors. When PSA merged with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2021, creating Stellantis, Vauxhall became part of this larger group. Stellantis now owns and manages Vauxhall as one of its many automotive brands, with Vauxhall cars designed, engineered, and mostly produced in Europe, maintaining strong historical ties to the UK.
