The painting "Oblivion" (actually the stolen painting in the quest "Canvas the Castle" in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) was stolen by Chanel. She took the painting out of jealousy and love for the late Count Valga, the Countess's husband. Evidence against Chanel includes paint footprints in the dining hall, painting supplies found in her room, and the fact that she spent time in the West Tower where the painting was hidden. After gathering enough evidence and raising her disposition to at least 70, Chanel will confess to the theft and reveal where she hid the painting
